Is there anything in the world sadder
than a train standing in the rain? you said.

Haven’t you seen
an abandoned Church

BIO: Oritsegbemi Emmanuel Jakpa was born in Warri, Nigeria, and he is currently living in Ireland. He studied at the University of Lagos, and the University of Iowa. He obtained his M.A. from Waterford Institute of Technology. His poetry has been published in over 400 online and print journals and an Irish-Canadian anthology, Landing Places, and the African American Review. He was nominated for the 2009 Pushcart Prize by The Swarthmore Literary Review, The Taylor Trust, and Jack Magazine. And He received the Yeats' Pierce Loughran Scholar Award in 2008.
